The former faculty building for Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics, built in 1967 as one of the first buildings as Transistorium on Campus Drienerlo in Enschede, will be used in 2018 as a conference hotel and as student housing; two new owners and their users (Camelot and DHK) will get their own address. The transformation has now almost been completed. The existing 1967 concrete structure once again proves its value: flexibility works. With courage, caution and perseverance, a large concrete giant in the background of the landscape becomes a new and central address on the Campus. An exemplary sustainable investment with a keen eye for the existing architectural qualities of the UT and a boost for other spatial developments in the ensemble of buildings, gardens and squares around it. Van Wijnen Projectontwikkeling develops and builds, dvdp designs and Camelot and DHK expect their first guests and residents in September. View the project page here.
