dvdp has created a design for transforming the 3000 m2 outdated office space below the square of the monumental building into a modern and light residence for all the student associations of the EUR. The floor is accessible via a new vertical point of ascent in the patio. By using the low-angle stairs you can descend between the green to enter the area. The alternation between open-space offices, transparent rooms, and the wide halls cause an easy-to-find and enjoyable routing. The restoration of the Carillon and the pedestrian bridge are part of the assignment. The monumental structure will be brought to its original state with generous care: concrete renovation; asbestos removal and the restoration of the steel frames. The completion of the building is planned for October 2018.
